Environmental Requests
We hold records of sites which currently hold a petroleum storage certificate and those that have historically stored petrol. GMFRS took over the responsibility for petroleum licensing in 1986, prior to this it was dealt with by the Local Authority Trading Standards. Where a landowner, developer, or potential purchaser requires an environmental search they should complete the application form.
There is a charge for the search and in most cases, we respond within 20 working days. More information about charges and timescales can be found on the application form.
The form should be completed and returned with the documents requested to petroleum@manchesterfire.gov.uk
