Petroleum Storage Certificates

Certificates are specific to the premises where petrol is stored and dispensed, with no reference the person or company who control the premises, the keeper of petrol.

Certificates do not have an expiry date and remain in force till the site ceases to operate for more than 12 months or if a major change is made to the site.

An annual fee is payable by the keeper of petrol, this fee is calculated on the maximum quantity of petrol that can be stored on the premises.

The Keeper can pay for up to 10 years in advance, the current fees are;

Maximum capacity of Petrol Fee per year
Not exceeding 2,500 Litres £45
Exceeding 2,500 but not more than 50,000 Litres £61
Exceeding 50,000 Litres £128

 

These fees are set by The Health and Safety Nuclear (Fees) Regulations 2021, Schedule 2 part 5 (gov.uk) and are reviewed periodically.
