Our Motorcycle Risk Reduction Team

Motorcyclists are one of the most vulnerable road user groups on our roads. Both nationally, regionally and within our city region, motorcyclists represent only 2% of road users but make up 20% of statistics for collisions resulting in persons killed and seriously injured.

Motorcycle Risk Reduction Team

Our team consists of a mix of GMFRS staff who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our local motorcycle communities, as the Motorcycle Risk Reduction Team (MRRT).

The MRRT is dedicated in supporting our communities to be safer whilst riding motorcycles or powered two-wheelers on our urban and rural roads, both locally and within the north west region.

Our B.I.K.E.R (Bespoke Interventions by Knowledge, Education and Resource) programme is delivered by the MRRT throughout the year and consists of our Biker Down! programme, supporting the delivery of BikeSafe alongside Greater Manchester Police (GMP), and the delivery of targeted interventions using direct engagement to deliver key motorcycle safety messages.
