Wheat bags
Wheat bag safety
Wheat bags can help with relief and comfort, but if used incorrectly, they can cause burns or fires. Always follow the instructions.
Manufactured wheat bags
- Shop-bought bags usually contain buckwheat with known moisture levels.
- Follow the heating times on the label to avoid overheating or fire.
Homemade wheat bags
- Homemade bags are riskier because moisture and size vary.
- Using other types of wheat can increase fire risk.
Adding oils
- Adding oils can soak the fabric and make it more flammable.
Overheating risks
- Repeated heating can dry the wheat and cause ignition.
- When microwaving, place a cup of water inside to reduce risk.
- Do not keep a hot bag under blankets or in warm places, it can catch fire.
