Legislation and Guidance
The supply, storage, and sales of explosives and in particular fireworks are subject to a range of legislation, including;
Explosives Regulations 2014 - Provides regulation of the manufacture, storage and acquisition of explosives
Firework Regulations 2004 - Covers the sales, possession and use of fireworks
Pyrotechnic Articles (Safety) Regulations 2015 - Deals with the safety of pyrotechnic articles made available for sale
Explosives Act 1875 - Covers the use of fireworks in public places
The Explosive Regulations 2014 is supported by a suite of subsector guidance produced by the Health and Safety Executive. The guidance consists of two main documents:
