Dave joined GMFRS as Chief Fire Officer (CFO) in September 2020, after serving for 29 years in neighbouring Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS).
In Lancashire, Dave fulfilled various roles. As Deputy Chief Fire Officer, he was responsible for all aspects of service delivery, training and operational review, and mobilising. He was Incident Commander at the Winter Hill moorland fire in summer 2018 and led LFRS’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dave has now been with GMFRS as CFO for two years, and during that time has driven our journey to improve culture significantly and further embedded our values. He is committed to providing GMFRS with the leadership that is needed, and deserved by all staff members and the people of Greater Manchester.
