Our Camping and Caravanning section holds regular events throughout the spring and summer seasons, and are always looking for new members to join.
GMFRS Caravan and Camping
The Greater Manchester Fire Caravan and Camping Section offers affordable camping opportunities to serving and retired members of the service - both uniformed and support staff, and their families. Anyone with any connection to the service can join and membership is FREE!
We are a branch of the national Fire Service Caravan and Camping Club which runs around 15 or so rallies a year. The Greater Manchester branch currently runs two of these meetings, but members of our branch can attend any rally, not matter which brigade is running it.
The Club offers affordable rally camping lasting between 3 to 14 days in various locations up and down the country. Some sites have electric hook-up and most also have access to a hall or club house for social gatherings. However, some sites only offer basic camping facilities (fresh water and chemical disposal). Most rallies have some sort of organised entertainment arranged but attendance is never compulsory.
Membership of the club is free, but members do have to pay all of their travel costs and pitch fees. Members will receive a Rally List program detailing all the events for the current year and a Membership Card.
