Assistant Chief Fire Officer

Leon joined GMFRS in 2017 as an Area Manager having spent 28 years with Cheshire Fire and Rescue – where he started out as an apprentice at 16-years-old.

Leon has a service delivery and operational background and while in Cheshire led the way on several key projects, including a strategic review of operational response – which included looking at response times, fire station locations, appliances and duty systems.

In his current role of Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO), Leon oversees the Prevention and Protection function of the Service and vice chair of the Greater Manchester High Rise Task Force, which was established following the Grenfell tragedy.

In his spare time Leon enjoys keeping fit and DIY.
