Gwynne joined GMFRS in 2008, from Wigan Council where she was an in-house solicitor from 1990, and she is now GMCA’s Deputy Monitoring Officer, Legal Services/Governance and Scrutiny/Information Governance

Whilst at Wigan Gwynne worked with GMFRS and specialised in the area of fire safety. On joining GMFRS she was responsible for governance for the former Fire Authority and had general oversight of litigation, contracts and other legal issues. In recent years her focus has been on GMFRS’s involvement in a number of significant inquests and latterly the Manchester Arena Inquiry.

Gwynne, who grew up in Wigan, undertook her training and qualified as a Solicitor in a private practice in 1989.
