Weekend incidents - Saturday, March 18

Incident Date: 18 March 2017

Between 5.30pm on Friday, March 17, and 8.30am on Monday, March 20, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 338 calls and attended 195 incidents.

Here are details of some incidents firefighters attended: 

 

Kitchen fire – Offerton

AT 1.54am on Saturday, March 18, three crews from Stockport, Whitehill and Offerton attended a fire at a house on Highlands Road, Offerton.

On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen and used six breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a fan to bring the fire under control.

Crews rescued one casualty from the house before they were taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Firefighters were on the scene for approximately than two hours.

 

Bedroom fire – Stockport

TWO crews from Stockport and Offerton were called to a fire at a house on Forbes Road, Stockport, at 9.08am on Saturday, March 18.

On arrival crews found a fire in a bedroom and used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, a ladder and a toolkit to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Crews were on the scene for approximately an hour.

 

Kitchen fire – Manchester

THREE crews from Withington, Moss Side and Whitehill were called to a fire at a house on Dennison Avenue, Manchester, at 11.51am on Saturday, March 18.

On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen and used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
