Kitchen fire – Marple

At 6.48pm on Monday, March 6 two fire engines from Offerton and Marple attended a fire in Southwood Close in Marple, The fire started in the kitchen of a town house. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and checked for heat spots using a thermal imaging cameras. Crew were at the scene for an hour and a half.


Building fire – Manchester

At 9.06pm on Monday, March 6 fire engines from Moss Side and Salford were called to a fire in Malvern Street in Manchester. When Crew arrived, they tackled the fire in a bin room of a building using one hose reel. They were on the scene for 30 minutes.


Building fire – Little Hulton

Just after midnight (00.12) on Tuesday, March 7 three fire engines from Farnworth and Bolton Central, along with a technical response unit from Leigh attended a building fire in Cleggs Land in Little Hulton. Fire crew wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels to extinguish the fire, whilst the technical response unit made the building stable. Fire service crew remain at the incident this morning to preserve the scene prior to an investigation. The cause is currently unknown.
