Hostel fire – Manchester – 13 June

AT 7.34pm on June 13, three fire engines from Moss Side and Gorton attended a fire involving a room at a hostel in Heathersage Road, Manchester.

Firefighters tackled a fire involving an amount of clothes and crew used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel before clearing smoke using a positive pressure fan.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and firefighters were at the scene for around 90 minutes.

 

Derelict college fire – Horwich – 13 June

AT 8.02pm on June 13, three fire engines from Bolton Central and Horwich attended a fire at a derelict property on Victoria Road, Horwich.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to bring the fire under control. Smoke was then cleared from the building with a positive pressure fan.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and crews were in attendance for approximately 90 minutes.
