Building fire – Rochdale
AT 10.55pm on July 11, 2017, three fire engines from Heywood, Blackley and Chadderton attended reports of a building fire on Bowness Road in Middleton.
Firefighters used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze, which involved a garage in a row of derelict garages.
Crew were on the scene for around 1 hour and 20 minutes, using positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke, and damping down to make the area safe.
Firefighters notified GMP as they believed the cause of the fire to be deliberate.
Wheelie bin fire – Manchester
AT 11.43pm on July 11, 2017, three fire engines from Gorton and Withington were called to a fire involving a wheelie bin in the porch of an unoccupied house in Whitburn Avenue in Manchester.
The fire spread to the facia and guttering of the house causing minor damage.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 15 minutes and the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
Barbecue fire – Manchester
AT 2.12am on July 12, 2017, crew from Moss Side and Manchester Central attended a fire involving a barbecue on the balcony of a flat in River Street in Manchester city centre.
Firefighters used a short extension ladder for access and put out the flames using one hose reel. They were on the scene for 40 minutes.
