House fire – Manchester – January 5, 2017
FIREFIGHTERS from Philips Park and Gorton attended a fire at a mid-terraced house in Argyle Street, Manchester at 9.16pm on January 5, 2017.
Crews used one hose reel and three breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames and a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the property. The cause of the fire was determined to accidental by carelessly discarded materials.

Shop fire – Stockport – January 6, 2017
SHORTLY after 2.00am on January 6, 2017, three fire engines from Marple, Offerton and Stockport attended a fire at a bridal shop in Town Street, Stockport. Crews used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire. A fire service trauma technician administered oxygen therapy to one casualty at the scene who was conveyed to hospital by ambulance. Crews have arranged for Safe and Well visits to be carried out at three domestic properties above the shop.
Firefighters remained at the scene for around three hours.
Arson – Hyde – January 6, 2017
At 2.11am on January 7, 2017, crews from Hyde, Stalybridge and Ashton attended a fire at a house in Talbot Road, Hyde.
The fire involved a fire in a wheelie-bin in close proximity to the house. The heat caused a window to break and smoke entered the house.
Crews extinguished the flames using one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke and were in attendance for around fifty minutes.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
