Friday, August 11

 

House fire – Mossley

AT 00.30am on Thursday, August 11, three fire engines from Oldham, Stalybridge and Mossley were called to a house fire in Argyle Street, Mossley.

The fire began in a bedroom of the house, with the cause being accidental. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a ventilation fan to extinguish it.

One person was rescued from the house by firefighters and taken to hospital by paramedics. Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours 30 minutes.

 

Bin fire – Bolton

AT 04.15am on Friday, August 11, two fire engines from Bolton Central, as well as the Technical Response and Major Response Unit from Leigh were called to a bin fire in Edge Hill Road, Bolton.

The fire spread from the wheelie bin to an outbuilding it was near to, requiring firefighters to use one hose reel and ventilation fan to extinguish it

Firefighters remained on the scene for 2 hours and 50 minutes.
