Chip pan fire - Manchester
At 18:40 on July 12 two fire engines from Philips Park and Manchester Central attended a building fire in Gunson Street, Manchester. On arrival crews found the fire to be involving a chip pan which was extinguished prior to their arrival. One casualty suffered smoke inhalation and was given oxygen therapy by fire crews. The casualty declined hospital treatment and fire service were at the scene for approximately fifty minutes.
Rescue of person – Dovestones Reservoir
At 19:10 on Wednesday July 12, two fire engines from Oldham and the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne were called to Dovestones Reservoir, Bank Lane, Greenfield to reports of a person having fallen over a dam overflow wall. Crews discovered a casualty with head and neck injuries and utilised the Technical Response Unit along with a tool kit and a trauma bag to rescue the casualty and provide first aid. The casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance. Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and ten minutes.
