Between 8am and 5.30pm today (Tuesday, June 6, 2017) approximately 75 calls have been made to North West Fire Control relating to incidents in the Greater Manchester area, with around 40 requiring emergency response.
Below are details of one of the incidents attended by our firefighters today.
Bus fire, Manchester
At 1.42pm on Tuesday, June 6, two fire engines from Wythenshawe were called to a fire involving a double decker bus in Leestone Road, Manchester.
The driver had evacuated passengers from the bus prior to the arrival of the fire service.
The fire involved the back end of the bus, with the outside catching fire due to an electrical fault.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out using hose reels and were at the incident for just under one hour.
