BETWEEN 8.30am and 5.30pm on Thursday, September 7, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to 31 incidents.

Rescue of person – Timperley

AT 12.07pm on Thursday, September 7, two crews from Sale and Altrincham were joined by the technical response unit and major rescue unit from Ashton and the water incident unit from Heywood to reports of a casualty on a mobility scooter that had fallen into a canal in Park Road, Timperley.

Crews rescued the man from the water and he was conveyed to hospital by ambulance crews. 

Firefighters were at the scene for around an hour.

 

Building fire – Bury

AT 2.10pm on Thursday, September 7, three crews from Hindley, Bury and Farnworth were called to a fire at a school on Ashington Drive, Bury.

On arrival crews found a fire at the entrance and used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel, specialist tools and a ventilation fan to extinguish it.

All children were taken home by their parents.

Firefighters were on the scene for approximately one hour.
