Bin fire spread to property – Bolton

At 12.59am on Sunday (Nov 6) crews from Horwich, Farnworth and Rochdale were called to a fire in Musgrave Gardens, Bolton.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a fire involving a number of wheelie bins that had spread to a property.

Crews were on scene for 50 minutes.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.


Building fire – Middleton

At 3.51am on Sunday (Nov 6) two crews from Heywood and one from Blackley were called to a fire in Towncroft Avenue, Middleton.

Guttering and fascia of a glass and timber structure attached to a semi-detached property was on fire. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Ladders and thermal imaging cameras were also used.

One person was treated at the scene by firefighters for cuts to the hand.

Crews were on scene for 50 minutes.

The fire started accidentally, spreading from a fire pit after petrol was poured on it.
