Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 387 incidents over the bank holiday weekend, you can read about two fires below.
Kitchen fire – Bolton
AT 0.58am on Sunday, May 28, two crews from Bolton and Bolton North were called to a fire in a ground floor flat on Russell Street, Bolton.
On arrival crews found a fire in the kitchen and used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a specialist fan to extinguish it.
The cause of the fire was accidental.

Firefighters were on the scene for an hour.
Shipping container fire – Manchester
AT 5.45pm on Sunday, May 28, two crews from Manchester Central and Philips Park were called to a fire involving a shipping container on Briscoe Lane, Manchester.
Crews used one jet, one hose reel, a high pressure specialist jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half.
