ON Sunday, July 2, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to 105 incidents. Read about some of the incidents we attended below.

Kitchen fire – Manchester

AT 2:44pm on Sunday, July 2, three crews from Blackley, Manchester and Philips Park were called a kitchen fire in Willowdene Close, Manchester.

Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus extinguished the fire involving a pan of food on a cooker using one hose reel and one ventilation fan.

Crews were on the scene for approximately two hours and fifteen minutes.

Derelict pub fire - Eccles

AT 4:41pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017, the crews from Eccles, Agecroft and Stretford along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh were called to a fire at derelict pub in Worsley Road, Eccles.

On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a large quantity of rubbish on the ground floor of the detached building.

Wearing four breathing apparatus, firefighters extinguished the flames using two hose reels and a ventilation fan.

Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
