GMFRS received 63 calls from 5.30pm on Monday, September 26 to 8.30am on Tuesday, September 27. Here is a summary of some of the incidents we attended:
Dog rescued in Heywood: We were called at 5.56pm on Monday, September 26, to a building fire at a mid-terraced house on Mount Street, Heywood. The fire was in the living room and firefighters rescued a dog. Crew from Rochdale and Heywood used four breathing kits, a thermal imaging camera, two hose reels and a ventilation fan to put the fire out. They were at the scene for two hours and 50 minutes.

Road traffic collision on M60: At 7.50pm we were called to a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the M60 anti-clockwise carriageway at the junction 19 slip road. Two casualties released themselves from vehicles prior to firefighters from Blackley and Chadderton arriving at the scene. Both casualties were assessed by a fire service trauma technician and crew used a long board and neck collars, before making the scene safe. Crew were on scene for one hour and 20 minutes.
