House fire - Farnworth
AT 1.00pm on June 4, 2017, three fire engines from Farnworth and Bolton Central attended a fire involving an upstairs bedroom of a mid-terrace house in Vernon Street, Farnworth.
Firefighters used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus to tackle the fire before clearing smoke with a positive pressure fan.
There was one casualty at the scene who was suffering the effects of smoke inhalation and was assessed at the scene by fire service personnel and paramedics.
The cause of the fire was accidental as accidental caused by the wind blowing curtains onto candles. Firefighters were at the scene for around an hour and wish to remind people to never leave candles unattended and keep the away from draughts and blowing curtains.

Tumble dryer fire – Manchester
THREE fire engines from Withington and Gorton were mobilised to a fire involving a tumble dryer in an integral garage at a house in Acorn Close, Manchester at 6.25pm on June 4, 2017.
Crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel tackled the fire and were at the scene for approximately 90 minutes.

Building fire – Tyldesley
AT 11.00pm on June 4, 2017, fire engines from Atherton, Leigh and Farnworth attended a fire involving two properties under construction in Larkhill, Tyldesley.
Crews used two hose reels, two jets and a nine metre ladder and thermal imaging camera to gain control of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
