Outbuilding fire – Radcliffe – May 27

AT 8.58am on May 27, 2017, two fire engines from Whitefield and Broughton were mobilised to a fire involving an outbuilding on Outwood Road, Radcliffe.

The fire involved a large quantity of rubbish which had spread to two converted shipping containers.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using an ultra-high powered cutting lance and a hose reel to put the fire out before clearing smoke from the area with a positive pressure fan.

Crews remained at the scene for around two hours.

 

Building fire – Oldham – May 27

Three fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton attended a fire involving the roof of a single storey warehouse in Featherstall Road South, Oldham at 1.49pm on May 27.

Firefighters used two nine metre ladders, two hose reels and breaking in gear to bring the fire under control and remained at the scene for approximatele one hour and 40 minutes.  

 

House fire – Oldham – May 27

AT 3.02pm on May 27, fire engines from Stalybridge, Manchester Central and Philips Park were joined by an aerial appliance from Oldham at an incident in Woodstock Street, Oldham.

Crews tackled a fire involving two houses and used four hose reels, one jet and four breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control.

One man was lead to safety by fire crews who remained at the scene for around 7 hours.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

 

Derelict building fire – Manchester – May 27

AT 6.12pm on May 27, fire engines from Moss Side, Withington and Stretford attended a fire at a derelict building in Withington Road, Manchester.

The fire involved a quantity of rubbish on the first floor and crews used six breathing apparatus, three hose reels and breaking in gear to tackle the fire before clearing smoke with a positive pressure fan.

Crews were at the scene for around two hours.

 

Building fire – Bredbury – May 27

AT 8.39 on May 27, fire engines from Stockport, Offertn and Ashton were mobilised to a fire in Higher Bents Lane, Bredbury.

On arrival crews discovered the fire to be involving a mattress in a communal stairwell of the property. Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with three hose reels.

Firefighters led three people to safety and were at the scene for around three and a half hours.
