House fire – Bolton – April 15
AT 2.14am on April 15, three fire engines from Bolton Central attended a persons reported house fire in Grovesnor Street, Kearsley.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to bring the fire under control before using a positive pressure fan to clear smoke.
The fire is believed to have started due to faulty motors in a fish tank filter and crews were detained for around one hour and ten minutes.
Garage fire – Rochdale – April 15
TWO fire engines from Rochdale attended a garage fire in Vicarage Road North in Rochdale at 4.14am on April 15.
Crews used one ultra-high powered cutting lance, one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire. Firefighters cleared smoke from the area with a positive pressure fan and remained in attendance for an hour and 15 minutes.
Cooking fire – Sale – April 15
AT 5.37pm on April 15, three fire engines from Stretford, Sale and Altrincham attended a cooker on fire at a house in Medway Close, Sale.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to fight the fire and a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the house.
One casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation at the scene by fire service personal but declined hospital treatment.
Crews were detained for one hour.
RTC – Bolton – April 15
AT 5.42pm on April 15, two fire engines from Bolton Central were joined by one Major Rescue Unit and one Technical Response Unit from Leigh at a road traffic collision in Deansgate, Bolton involving a bus and a car.
Crews rescued one casualty from the car using specialist cutting equipment.
Crews were detained for around 80 minutes.
Derelict building fire – Manchester – April 15
THREE pumps from Moss Side and Gorton attended a fire in a derelict building in Glenbarry Close, Manchester at 7.12pm on April 15.
On arrival crews found the fire to be involving an abandoned ground floor flat.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and an ultra-high powered cold cutting lance to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and crews remained at the scene for forty minutes.
