Supermarket oven fire - Bolton
At 09:16 on March 6, one fire engine each from Farnworth, Bolton North and Bolton Central attended a fire involving a commercial roasting oven in a supermarket on Mornington Road, Bolton. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to bring the fire under control and crews were in attendance for just under one hour.
Kitchen fire - Manchester
At 14:02 on March 6 three fire engines from Manchester Central, Salford and Phillips Park responded to a building fire on Deansgate, Manchester. The fire was involving a ground floor kitchen and ducting in a restaurant. Fire service used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a high pressure lance to extinguish the fire. A ladder also was used to check external ducting for fire spread. Fire service remained in attendance for two hours.
