Here is a summary of some of the incidents the crews attended…
Hazmat Incident in Trafford Park: We were called to a large scale hazmat incident on Hibernia way in Trafford Park at 19:49 hours on September 23. Fire engines from Stretford, Bury, Atherton and Eccles, one Environmental Protection Unit from Bury and one Command Unit from Atherton decontaminated the scene in around three hours, using two breathing apparatus.
Industrial waste fire in Bolton: Crews were called to a large industrial waste fire at the rear of a commercial property on Blackburn Road, Bolton, at around 21:26 hours. Three fire engines from Bolton Central, Bolton North and Farnworth used a short extension ladder to gain access to the first floor. The building was heavily smoke logged and it took approximately one hour fifteen minutes to tackle the blaze using a hose reel and breaking in gear.
Vehicle, shed and house fire in Middleton: Four fire engines from Chadderton, Heywood and Blackely stations attended a vehicle fire on Millbeck road, Middleton, at 1:12 hours on September 24. The fire had spread to a garden shed and the window frame of a semi-detached property. Firefighters used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus during the two hour incident.
Shed fire, Manchester: At 21:59 hours on September 24, fire engines from Blackley, Broughton and Whitefield attended a fire involving a garden shed on Crab Lane, Manchester. Crews used one hose reel ad two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire in around 30 minutes.
