Building fire - Salford

At 6.11pm on Monday (April 24) three crews from Manchester Central and Agecroft were called to a building fire in Graythorpe Walk, Salford.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish a fire involving towels on a cooker.

They were at the incident for 35 minutes. The cause of the fire was accidental.

 

Kitchen fire – Manchester

At 6.25pm on Monday (April 25) three crews from Moss Side and Withington were called to a building fire in Claremont Grove, Manchester.

The fire involved the kitchen and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire. They were at the scene for 25 minutes.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

 

Sheds on fire – Manchester

At 7.51pm on Monday (April 24) four crews from Withington, Gorton and Whitehill were called to a fire in Elsa Road, Manchester.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire involving several sheds on an allotment. Two jets were used to put the fire and out and crews were at the scene until about 10pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental – believed to have started when burning embers spread from a small controlled burn nearby.
