Rubbish on fire - Manchester

AT 6.25pm on March 14, one fire engine from Broughton and two from Manchester Central were called to a fire in Bury Old Road, Manchester. On arrival, crews were faced with a fire involving a quantity of rubbish in a derelict building and used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to deal with the fire and cleared smoke from the building using a positive pressure fan.

Crews were detained for around 35 minutes.

Outbuilding fire - Gorton

TWO fire engines from Gorton attended an incident in Hemsworth Road, Manchester at 9.17pm on March 14.

When crews arrived they discovered a number of sheds on fire which were part of an allotment. Crews dealt with the incident using one hose reel and one handheld and were at the scene for around 90 minutes.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
