Incident Date: 31 August 2017
Between 8am and 5.30pm on Thursday, August 31 approximately 75 calls were made to North West Fire Control relating to incidents in the Greater Manchester area, with around 40 requiring emergency response.
Below are details of one of the incidents dealt with by our firefighters today.
Manchester road traffic collision
At 1.13pm today three fire engines, from Wythenshawe and Moss Side, were called to reports of a collision on the M56 near to junction 5 eastbound.
A Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from GMFRS also attended the incident which involved a HGV and a car.
Firefighters released a man (age unknown) from the car. He was then taken care of by ambulance workers and went to hospital.
Crew members were at the incident for one hour.
