A LAMP which had been accidentally knocked over set fire to a settee at a flat in Ramsbottom.

Firefighters were called to Redisher Lane, Holcombe Brook, just after 3.30am on Saturday. (January 28)

A 39-year-old man was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke but he declined hospital treatment.

Damage was caused to the settee and a blanket in the living room of a ground floor flat.

The fire started after a lamp was accidentally knocked over.
