Children injured in Bolton fire

Borough: Bolton

Incident Date: 23 January 2012

THREE children were injured after a fire at a house in Bolton.

Firefighters from Bolton Central Fire Station were called to Lambton Street, Morris Green, just after 9pm on Monday. (January, 23, 2012)

On arrival, the crew discovered a fire involving a kitchen diner unit in the semi-detached house.

A two-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy were treated at the scene by the fire service and paramedics for burns to their hands.

A three-year-old boy was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.

The children were taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up.

Damage was caused to a collection of Xbox games and some papers.

It is believed that the fire started as a result of the children playing with matches.
