FIREFIGHTERS remain in Meadowfield Court following an incident in a property there yesterday morning (July 4).
Investigations into the cause of the fire and explosion are underway between GMFRS fire investigation officers and Greater Manchester Police.

RESIDENTS in surrounding properties have been allowed access to their homes. Flats directly next to the explosion have been rehoused by the local authority.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will return tomorrow (Wednesday, July 5) to commence a fire investigation.
Engineers have left the scene and have confirmed that that the gas supply to the affected flats has been isolated.
Greater Manchester Police will remain at the scene overnight.

FIREFIGHTERS are making the first floor flat safe so fire investigators can begin their work.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is working with colleagues across emergency services, utilities and housing providers, with gas and electric isolated to the flat.

THERE are around 30 firefighters and officers from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) dealing with an incident in Hyde.
At 10:46am on Tuesday, July 4, three crews from Stalybridge and Gorton, along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh attended a gas explosion at a flat in Meadowfield Court, Hyde.
Firefighters wearing six breathing apparatus used three hose reels to extinguish the blaze. They also used ceiling hooks, salvage sheets, shoring and para-tech equipment to ensure the scene was safe.
Two causalities were taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
