Dance school roof fire in Walkden

THE roof a dance school in Walkden was damaged during an accidental fire.

Firefighters from Farnworth Fire Station were called to the dance studio in Rothwell Street just before 1pm on Wednesday (February 1) following reports of a fire involving an asbestos roof.

The fire involved plywood lining underneath the roof but no asbestos was found.

Crews used a ladder and tools to access the roof and extinguished the fire.
