At 04:05 on 24th January firefighters were called out to localised flooding which was affecting 20 to 30 properties on and near Rigby Road in Radcliffe. Approximately 30 acres of field were flooded with water up to two metres in depth. Water was entering the roadway and houses and under the metrolines. Firefighters were at the scene working with local partners to divert some of the water away from the streets and the water began to recede. A specialist HVP (High Volume Pump) later came to the incident and this helped to pump even more water away from the streets and houses.
