Pallet yard fire
Fire at a Pallet Yard in Shaw Street, Oldham on 5th November 2007.
12345At just before 8pm on Monday 5th November our Fire Service Control Room received a number of calls stating that there was a fire at a Pallet Yard on Shaw Road, Oldham.
On arrival, the fire crew from Oldham were faced with a severe and developing fire and immediately requested supporting fire crews from surrounding fire stations including two Hydraulic Platforms which would allow Water jets to be used directed from above the fire. At just after 10pm the fire was under control and firefighters prevented the fire spreading to an adjoining property using five jets and two Aerial Monitors. The Fire Service remained at the scene throughout the night damping down. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
