Bolton is a large town with a population of about 261,000.
The current Borough of Bolton was created in 1974 and encompasses
the townships of Bolton, Farnworth, Kearsley, Horwich, Westhoughton, Little Lever, Blackrod
and South Turton.
Bolton has a magnificent Town Hall, reduced traffic
shopping streets, an acclaimed theatre and a new
University. The borough has 4 fire stations: Bolton Central, Bolton North, Horwich and Farnworth.

Is responsible for the management of approximately 18,500 Council
owned properties and their neighbourhood. We are working with them
to carry out home fire risk assessments
in all of these homes.
Road Safety Partnership
Involves local authority road safety practitioners, Police and the
Advanced Motorists Institute in reducing injuries from not wearing
seatbelts and using mobile phones whilst driving.

Is central to all the partnership activities the Fire and Rescue
Service are involved with. It aims to tackle crime and disorder and
drugs misuse in the borough.
Proposed Partnerships
We aim to work with the local authority promoting the Government's
'Respect' agenda with events and courses aimed at improving
parental responsibility and citizenship.
