Firestoppers radio transcripts

Advert One - Supermarket fire

A fire started in a supermarket car park for a laugh. A blaze in a family home. When you work for the fire and rescue service it is your duty to treat every fire seriously and attend with a full crew. There's nothing more frustrating than arriving at the scene to discover it’s just a small fire started by kids. There is nothing more annoying than knowing you could be out dealing with something far more important. Starting fires wastes firefighters time. You can report such anti-social behaviour in confidence to Firestoppers on 0800 923 9999. Make your Wigan borough safer  - smoke them out

Advert Two - Mrs Smith and her child

Sound of a baby crying

Mrs Smith and her child have five minutes left to live. A fire has taken hold of her home and is mercilessly burning up all the oxygen. They are trapped in the back bedroom and the heat and smoke are intense. The Fire and Rescue Service won’t rescue them . If they had arrived earlier they would have but they were out on a hoax call. Making hoax calls wastes the firefighters time. You can report such anti-social behaviour in confidence to Firestoppers on 0800 923 9999. That's 0800 923 9999. Make your Wigan Borough Safer  - Smoke them out

Advert three - Dog attacking the postman

Sound of a dog barking

The dog that attacks the postman Is simply exhibiting a behavioural response. The person who attacks the fire crew when they are doing their job Is simply irresponsible. You can report such anti-social behaviour to Firestoppers on 0800 923 9999. Make your Wigan borough safer and smoke them out!
