What to expect at the Training Centre
If you choose to attend one of our Fire Focus courses at our Training Centre, on arrival you’ll be greeted at reception by one of our team. They will show you where all the facilities are and, if required, ask you to choose a lunch option. Tea and coffee is available on arrival for all courses and this is on a self service basis in the canteen area. All breaks are taken in this area.
What else goes on at the Training Centre?
In addition to the dedicated Fire Focus team engaged in the preparation and delivery of courses for external clients, a number of Fire Service staff from other departments also work at the Training Centre. They are involved in internal training and recruitment activities as well as catering and administrative support for Training Centre staff.
From training for new firefighter recruits to health and safety induction programmes, internal courses for our Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service colleagues are a very important part of the work of the Training Centre.
The Centre is also used by external partners as a venue for seminars and workshops.
