Industrial Breathing Apparatus

ba jpgThis course is designed to meet the needs of the customer. The information below is a typical two day course. However, the length of the course will be dependent on the level of training required for your workplace.

Who should attend?
Employees who may be requiring, as part of their working practices, respiratory protection and where this can only be met by wearing a self contained breathing apparatus set.

What are the aims of the course?
To train students in the safe use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) so that they will have a basic understanding of the apparatus and be able to don the apparatus and enter a risk area for a very short period of time in order to carry out a specific task.

What is covered on the course?
The course will include two physical wears. The two wears will give experience working ‘under air’ simulating the hazards of poor visibility and unsafe floor/ground surfaces whilst carrying out a work task.

The course will cover relevant legislation:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Work Regulations 1992
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 1988.

On successful completion, students will be given certificates valid for three years.

How long does the course last?
The course lasts for two days and will be run each day from 9:30am until 4:30pm approx.

£360 per person per course (+VAT).
