Who should attend?
Groups of employees needing to gain an understanding of the types and practical uses of fire extinguishers.
What are the aims of the course?
This course is designed to give participants an understanding of the types and sizes of fires, the appropriate use of fire extinguishers and the possible dangers of tackling a fire.
What is covered on the course?
The course includes a practical demonstration in the use of extinguishers and participants are given the opportunity to tackle a small fire in controlled circumstances. The course also covers:
- Reality of fire including fire spread and the amount of smoke generated from small fires
- Types of fire
- Types of extinguishers and their uses.
One certificate is issued for the organisation with individual names of people trained on the day. The certificate is valid for one year.
How long does the course last?
Approximately 1½ hours.
How much does it cost?
Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce members £325 plus VAT
Non-members £360 plus VAT
Where is it held?
The course can be held at our Training Centre or at your company premises, if suitable. If your premises are outside the Greater Manchester area there will be an additional charge to cover travelling and subsistence for the trainers.
