Director of Human Resources

Anita was appointed Director of Human Resources at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service in October 2006.  Her first undertaking since joining the service has been to implement a complete restructure of the HR function which included building a team from new and existing personnel.  She has also taken on the challenge of getting the organisation to share the vision of what a modern service should be like and put a strategy in place to deliver this.   

Prior to joining Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Anita spent 10 years at the Environment Agency where, as part of a Senior Leadership Group, she was responsible for the HR team in the North West Region during a period of major change, as well as being the Head of Strategic Resourcing in the organisation.  Anita also set up a centre of excellence with regard to recruitment.

Anita has also held a number of other HR appointments with organisations including British Nuclear Fuels, British Gas and the Co-operative Insurance Society.

Anita is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
